Duck Season is Upon US

Well Duck season is upon us , And have not even been out once yet ... Hoping tomorrow is the first day , Kind of scared how low the water is .... But Hope to do well we will see I guess

March 3rd Dillenbeck VTSportsman Derby

I pre fished on Friday with my daughter Kayla , And we saw quite a few people out doing the same thing we did with the wind being so strong and talking to Ricky and the rest of the gang we did not see much for Fish . And with the forecast not being the best and me coming down with a cold ,Kayla and I got up around 6 am and brought our great friends at Dockside a Coffee , When I was there Bens dad Bill was running the store and he had quite the Bait rush of people while I was trying to give him the Coffee so I decided to help him , And then we decided to head up and give the Guys a hand setting up I did not plan on spending the day I was not feeling the best , But we helped them get all setup and brought justin a few beverages and tow him from spot to spot he would call , It was nice to meet all the New people Dan and the Nathan , and a few others . There was a gut that came wanted to see what Vexilars do gave him a little talk and showed him the differences He was wondering about poles and what to use showed him that too Talked a little about Technique not all that good at that yet , Can sure put the sunfish and the bluegill and perch in but Not alot of Crappie like some . But thats fine I am very happy with my Progress Kayla is going to turn into a Crappie Assassin I think I finally got to her . And after we both have tried them and how good the fish are we are on it . The Tournament day started slow Big Sunfish started the Tourney and the people started to move round and round and then I officially got to meet Jeremiah I hope that is how I spell his name , Oh my is that Guy hooked and a smart fisherman , Amazing what you can learn .... Very Nice to meet such a great guy , The Tourney was coming to a end Big Crappie everywhere the word was out . Was pretty cool to see the move of everyone . In the End it was a Good bout . Congrats to all the Winners and all who fished it was a rough day . But it all turned out in the end . Was a great day and I had a ball towing Everyone in on my Wheeler , and I even took my Cover off my Shanty cause most of the people did not have there covers so I would use mine . It was a good time

After the Last 3 years Ice Fishing for them !!!! Sunfish /Bluegill

Well after the Last 3 years Ice Fishing for them giving them away , or this year we did sell a few . Kayla decided she wanted to try them , What a great Idea she had , Had to go over to Dockside Outdoors to get a couple fillet Knives and the kids got a Couple shirts Ben you are the Best Person ever ...Well I started to fillet them then I came up with something to flower them in , Oh my are then Gosh are these things super good , Perch Yuck compared to these . So very good , I will never look at them the Same again . I want some of those Hub Capper  Sunnies . Amazing how they taste and not that hard to clean either .... So excited lets go get some More

Last Week

I never got to get on the Ice at all last week . What a Bummer with the Season quickly approaching the end . Kayla don't want to see this season end she is bumming . I could not be any happier to have someone love it as much as I do . She loves her Ice fishing . I hope part of it loves her dad too . But we have a busy year planned also she wants to to Turkey hunt this spring , And with the Boat in the Picture we have some fishing planned ... I need to get a fish finder . And get the boat registered .

Well what a weekend at the Cow Banks

Justin invited us out to the Cowbanks after some White perch . We got there a little late on Saturday morning around 8am or so . Had no idea what they were biting on nothing , I put my Vexilar 22HD in the Hole Oh my I was like what the hang is wrong with this ? Red everywhere ... Interference ? No these were all fish from the bottom up 12 foot , It was amazing I really am kicking myself in the Ass right now for not taking pictures throught the year we have had some real good times and I have made such great friends with alot of new people some nice people out there . So anyway the Story Justin set us up with Swedish pimples and tipped with maggot Oh my gosh it was one right after the blast

Great News !!!!!

Well Yesterday I got my Strikemaster Strike Lite II Back from Service they even put the Crankcase oil in the box ... Yeah , Then I found a Tanaka 232 Power Head tree tapper with the Drill and the Adapter so Excited got that Last night and then I am going to put a Lazer Strikemaster 5 inch Bit on that . Then I looked at the Icefishing 24/7 website and I was lucky to win a new hat Yesterday ... Yahoo I really want to be fishing right now .... I need to take some time for myself

Last Night

Went home and put some Shrink wrap on the Brackets I put on for the Heater , Even though they were filed and sanded just did not want to take that risk of ripping anything . I should have taken pictures right ... I will the next time I open it up ....

01-30-2012 Day off

Well I should have been fishing instead, did the Chores around the house and decided to do the stuff I needed to get done to my New Clam Fish house Jason Mitchell Pro Thermal Ended up putting the New Cross Country Ski's on the bottom of it , I think there should be runners on them I looked at the Bottom it had only been out like 3 times and some of the gouges that were on there were pretty bad , But I also put my mounts in for my heater , Made the brackets that was a test of my patients that is for sure getting the right angle the right length works great , Thanks to Dave AKA Gofish for the Cross Country Ski's . I have a Dome light LED that I need to still install that a friend Fran gave me . The LED Lights are so Nice and bright .... Gosh I love this Ice Fishing

01-28-2012 and 01-29-2012 Fishing Trips Lake Carmi + Carry Bay

Lake Carmi fishing trip on Saturday with Justin ,Cheech and his 5 year old son ... And of course Kayla . The day started off slow , and yes it continued to be extremely slow . We got Maybe 30 between us , But the Excitement was watching cheech's son Chase flags , Got to be around Noon and I get called over for Lunch Cheech had prepared Venison Sausage Sandwich , And Some marinated Goose and Duck meat what a great lunch , So we get back to the Launch and this older lady pulls up got any fish for sale , Mr Softy I sent kayla over with the Bucket she gives the Lady our fish and my Favorite Scoop , That ended the Day ......

So Sunday we decided to go to Carry Bay for the Day the whole Gang was there Fishhounds Jamie was there and his Client Jim and Bobby and Dylan and Dave AKA Gofish , and Scott and the rest of the Gang , Was on my way out my poor girls anything that we try to do together bad luck The Nanook TC Cover get sucked under shanty guess what the Cord Ripped There goes that 50.00 Cover Darn it . Anyway to get on with the Fishing it started slow , But changed over to these Jigs I bought from Kevin Bratner Fish frys oh My hold on Holly and I filled well over 3/4 of a pale of a 6 gallon bucket , What a great day it turned out to be . It was Nice having holly fishing with me was her 1st trip out Since Collin was born , Nema which is Amy watched Collin so Holly could go out . I love having both my Girls with me , Can't wait to have Collin join us he will start early . Just like my girls did . It was a great weekend Love you girls it was fun

Well it was time to hit Lake Carmi Again

It is that time of year I know I have not posted alot or anything recently , Very Excited this year picked up quite a few New things to add to the Ice Adventure this year First was the TC Scout Last Spring and the Nanook TC and at the Sportsman Show Last weekend I decided I needed another Single So I bought the Jason Mitchell Pro  what a Nice Shanty , Not that the other ones aren't . I decided at the Beginning this year I wanted a New Auger So I bought the Strikemaster Lite II 4 Stroke what a Nice Quiet smooth piece that is , Then instead of staying with no Spinning reels I went with some New Fenwick Ultra Tech Ice rods 25 inch Ultra Lights how Nice those are , Then I saw Some Team Northlander Combos 29 Inch Ulta lights have not really got a chance to try them yet , And then While I was at the Show I needed to find me a rod Locker so I got the Ice Armor Rod Locker so that will protect my Investments , and then I got the Ice Armor Bag for the Vexilar that is so nice too cause you can put all of your stuff in it all your Tackle . Also decided to break down and get myself and Kayla out Ice Armor the blue Suits which is a nice addition to us .
